Everything you need to know about whether, or not, to apply a primer or primer sealer.
The need to apply a primer or primer sealer is a recurring question. So, we'll explain everything to you!
What to apply a primer / primer sealer on?
- On all new substrates.
- On all substates in poor condition (after restoration).
For what purposes?
- Facilitate painting.
- Ensure better uniformity.
- Feed the substrate to make it more solid.
- Avoid the formation of bubbles in the finishing coat.
- Avoid the appearance of shade variations on the substrate.
- Avoid peeling of the sealing.
- Saturate the substrate for a reduced need for a finishing paint and for optimal coverage.
Useful information:
- The application of a primer or a primer sealer is essential, or even more important than the application of a finishing paint.
- There is no point in applying a primer/primer sealer on a wall in good condition that is already painted, especially if the purpose is to change the colour.
- Each type of substrate requires a specific primer or adequate primer sealer.
